Helping Adult Children Heal: A 2022 Perspective

In the 1980s, the concept of adult children of alcoholics (ACA) drew considerable attention within treatment and recovery circles. There was a growing recognition that many of us in the helping services shared this past experience. Since then, much more has been learned about intergenerational trauma; but it has not been regularly applied to ACA. In this training, we discuss updated concepts to enhance healing practices for our clients and ourselves.
