Join us for our annual 3.0 CEU October session, designed to facilitate meeting your licensure requirements. This year's session focuses on Professional Ethics!

The proper management of ethics is key and is one of the most important skills for clinicians to possess. This presentation will highlight common ethical principles that relate to our responsibility as clinicians or EAP's in working with clients. Case studies will highlight ethical and unethical approaches.

PRESENTATION OBJECTIVES:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of three NASW ethical principles related to supporting clients.
  • Explain proper ethical and clinical guidelines related to EAP.
  • Evaluate case studies to identify relevant social work ethics, values, and principles.
  • Appraise unique case studies and formulate clinical judgments about best practices.

PRESENTER

Cheryl Bristor-Wilson, LCSW, CADC,CEAP

In addition to being NIEAPA's current Secretary and 2023 Member of the Year, Cheryl Bristor-Wilson, LCSW, CADC, CEAP is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of experience working with families, children and employees. Currently, she practices in Chicago, IL where she is the Clinical Director for a union based Employee Assistance Program. She was previously an Adjunct Faculty with City Colleges of Chicago. Ms. Bristor-Wilson has a private practice; CDB & Associates, which specializes in training, mediation and counseling.

Ms. Bristor-Wilson has a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois in Chicago, IL and holds Bachelor’s of Art Degrees in Psychology and Sociology from Dominican University in River Forest, IL.

She has presented numerous trainings on various topics such as Compassion Fatigue, Stress Management, Financial Management, Working with Difficult People and Working with Multiple Generations. Her experience and style of humor in her presentations make her a knowledgeable and skilled seminar instructor. Ms. Bristor-Wilson has also facilitated Diversity trainings for the Illinois Creditors Bar Association.
